    Konrad Hitze, Counter Sales

    Updated: Jul 8, 2019

Describe your experience working in the electrical/lighting industry?

I've noticed that at times it can be a lot more fast paced than you would think. I have been at All-Phase for almost 24 years.

How did you learn about All-Phase Indy? What made you want to join the team?

I had a friend that worked at the Indianapolis location so it was a mutual friends connection.

Briefly describe your typical day at work.

I help customers who come in through our counter with their electrical needs, often times going on a hunt for a product that is rare. I like a good challenge.

What's the best thing about your job?

I enjoy meeting and interacting with our customers and developing relationships with them.

What's one of your proudest moments working at All-Phase Indy?

I felt proud when I hit my 20 year anniversary with the team and I enjoy being able to lookout for our customers as well as preventing potential theft from our store.

What career advice would you give to someone who is looking to enter a similar field as yours?

Learn as much as you can. It takes time. Take advice from people that have been in the industry for a while.

What do you like to do when you're not at the office?

I enjoy working on my house, taking my '74 Dart Sport to car shows, watching Sci-Fi and visiting family members.

    Fun Fact

I own a uniform that was worn by an actor on the show, "Battlestar Galactica".

Describe your experience working in the electrical/lighting industry.

I have been blessed to work with a lot of great people who have become great friends – both inside the branch and outside. The relationships with customers and co-workers are the most rewarding part of it all.

How did you hear/learn about All-Phase Indy? What made you want to join the team?

Our current Division Manager, Jeremy Trennepohl, was working for the company and knew that Indianapolis was looking for sales people. He thought I might like the job and encouraged me to take a look at the company. After meeting with Jerry, my manager since I started, and his boss at the time, I liked the thought of what they were trying to build and wanted to be a part of it.

    Briefly describe your job/typical day.

I work the sales side of our business both inside and outside the office. I make many sales calls each week to customer’s offices and job sites. I also spend time working on their job quotes and day-to-day material needs inside the office. Contrary to popular belief, I don’t get to golf everyday – but sometimes that does in fact become part of my day!

What's the best thing about your job?

The relationships. I have become very close friends with both co-workers, vendors and customers over the years.

What's one of your proudest moments working at All-Phase Indy?

Being promoted to Outside Sales Manager in April of 2019 was a proud moment. It definitely made me feel that my efforts had been recognized and that the way I had gone about building my/our business was respected.

What career advice would you give to someone who is looking to enter a similar field as yours?

Be honest. Work hard. Serve your customers to the best of your abilities.

What do you like to do when you're not at the office?

I love more than anything to spend time with my wife and three daughters. We love sports and I love coaching, too. We enjoy being on the lake or at the ocean when possible. We love our church and small group and enjoy spending time and serving in various capacities with them.

Describe your experience working in show rooms/the lighting industry.

I started in a lighting showroom in November of 1988.  I worked with Home builders and their customers designing lighting for their new homes.

I really enjoyed meeting with the customers and giving them ideas on lighting.  It was always interesting helping design their custom home with all

    the new products.

How did you hear/learn about All-Phase Indy? What made you want to join the team?

Over the years I had worked with All Phase on some different projects.  The Lighting showroom that I worked, decided to close their business because the owners were retiring.  I had met with Jerry and talked to him about if they had a need for a lighting person.  When I met Jerry and all the people at

All phase it was a place that was growing and I wanted to be a part of it.

    Briefly describe your job/typical day.

I have multiple customers that I deal with on a daily basis.  I answer questions about bids, lighting questions and material that they need for projects.  I am

also part of what I believe to be a great project management team.  We are responsible for all the project business that All-Phase acquires.

What's the best thing about your job?

Talking with the customers and creating relationships that make doing business more enjoyable.

What's one of your proudest moments working at All-Phase Indy?

I have a lot of proud moments, but I would say being a part of seeing the business grow.  Being a part of watching our new building be built and obtaining the

business to make the new building an necessity.

What career advice would you give to someone who is looking to enter a similar field as yours?

The lighting industry is always changing.  It is a field that will allow you to always be involved in different applications.  That keeps you interested, so you are not

always doing the same thing every day.

I enjoy going to and watching sporting events.  I enjoy playing golf, fishing and being outside with family and friends.  Currently I spend a great deal of my time with my

    3 year old grandson.
